VBS Recap

What a wonderful week we had at Rolling River Rampage VBS! We had 41 rafters from preK-3 through 4th grade spend the week with us at St. Peter’s. They found adventure, acceptance, joy, and rest on the river through different Bible stories about Jesus. They learned about Jesus calling the disciples, accepting Mary and Martha, walking with Zacchaeus, and sharing the last supper with his disciples.

During the missions rotation our children did hands-on activities to learn about ripples of kindness. We learned about rural Tanzania, the problem of contaminated water, and the blessing a well can give a community. Through our rafters’ efforts and contributions from the congregation we raised over $780 for Water for Tanzania! We are so proud of our children and the care they showed for the Mara region of Tanzania.

We also sang and danced with our music team and enjoyed fun skits with our river rafting captain and Romper the river otter. We had themed snacks during break, active games in recreation, and fun projects in craft time. A generous donor donated a special treat - a NOLA ice truck – as a final celebration of our great week. The kids were so excited and loved celebrating the week with snow cones.

Words cannot express our gratitude to everyone who prayed, volunteered, and helped make this week possible. We had a staff and volunteer crew of 28 adults and youth from our congregation who served our children selflessly. What a blessing! We are confident our kids had a fun week and left knowing more about how God loves them and how the church loves them.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2
