The Rev. Dr. Mark Quay

Education:  According to my wife, too much for my own good!  Attended several schools, including the Defense Language Institute, the University of Cambridge, Covenant Theological Seminary, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  I hold two doctorates—one in education and one in leadership.

Ministry Areas at St. Peter’s: senior pastor, leadership, preaching and teaching, leadership development, counseling (crisis intervention, conciliation and mediation, life coaching)

Ministry Experience: assistant/associate pastor, church planter, Christian school headmaster, and seminary dean; visiting professor in Germany and Rwanda

Hobbies: hiking, caving, writing, Celtic music and history, reading the Inklings and Wodehouse, watching bad sci fi movies

Assistant Pastor of Pastoral Care

The Rev. Deacon Karen Mahler

Education: B.A., University of Tennessee; Spiritual Direction, Stillpoint Ministry; Clinical Pastoral Education, Baptist Health Systems; Crisis Counseling, Crisis Center Birmingham

Ministry Areas at St. Peter’s: pastoral care coordination, spiritual direction, pastoral counseling, and healing prayer

Hobbies: pilates, walking, nature watching, reading/writing poetry

Youth Minister

Anna Russell

Ministry Areas at St. Peter’s: youth ministry, leading morning prayer, pastoral care and teaching at Columbia Cottage, communication, teaching

Ministry Experience: youth ministry, children's ministry, college discipleship, short-term missions and outreach leadership, Christian summer camp ministry

Hobbies: yoga, hiking, coffee, baby animals

Worship Minister

Will Weir

Education: M.Div., Beeson Divinity School; B.A., Samford University

Ministry Areas at St. Peter’s: worship, music, and tech

Ministry Experience: long-time worship leader, teacher at a Christian middle school, homeless ministry in Washington, DC, small group leader, many ministry trips abroad (Africa, SE Asia, Europe)

Hobbies: reading, writing, playing music, cooking for folks, teaching my wife about the South, our son Samuel!
